Theo tin tức mới ghi nhận trong ngày qua, sẽ có một số cán bộ Việt cộng đi công tác tại thành phố Riverside, vào ngày 28 tháng 1 năm 2015 và sau đó sẽ có cuộc gặp gỡ với Hội Đồng thành phố tại đây cùng ngày.

Sự hiện diện của bọn Cộng Sản trong lúc này là một thách thức không nhỏ cho toàn thể đồng hương tỵ nạn chúng ta, mà những việc làm trong quá khứ, chúng ta cũng đã chứng tỏ được sức mạnh của tập thể người Việt tỵ nạn, không bao giờ chấp nhận sự hiện diện của bọn tay sai bán nước hại dân này.

Liên Ủy Ban Chống Cộng Sản Và Tay Sai sẽ tổ chức một cuộc biểu tình tại khu vực thành phố Riverside để phản đối sự hiện diện này cũng như để chứng tỏ sức mạnh của Cộng Đồng Người Việt Tỵ Nạn chúng ta không bao giờ khoan nhượng bọn chúng. BBT: Theo email bằng tiếng Anh của ông Phat Bui dưới đây thì hiện nay chính quyền của thành phố Riverside đang toan tính ký hợp đồng kết nghĩa Chị Em với  Cư dân tỉnh Cần thơ để trao đổi dịch vụ y khoa và đại học giữa hai thành phố. Để phản đối sự giao lưu này, ông Phat Bui đã thảo ra bức thư gởi đến ông Acharya, đại diện của thành phố Riverside yêu cầu một cuộc hội kiến để phản đối và nói lên ý định sẽ tổ chức biểu tình để phản đối phái đoàn VC khi chúng đến tại thành phố này.

Vì cấp bách và không có nhiều giờ, xin cho phép viết email này bằng tiếng Anh.

I had called the City of Riverside and had talk to the City Representative Mr. Acharya. Following are what he informed us:

1.       The City Sister Relationship is between the residents of Can Tho and Riverside and this is for civil exchanges of medical and universities between the two cities.

2.       The Delegation from Vietnam include government officials from Can Tho City, and business delegation

3.       The purpose of this visit is to sign the Sister City agreement.

I had told him that:

1.       In my view as a citizen of the US and refugee, I respectfully disagree that this relationship as just between the University and Medical institutions can be views as between residents of the two cities. Most University and Medical institutions are controlled by government.

There are no freedom of expression, freedom of religion, and freedom of the press.  Vietnam is on the top five list as the worst violators of human rights, human trafficking, and labor abuses.

2.       How can this be just between residents, when the government of Can Tho city signs and entering the agreement with the Riverside City.

3.       The Vietnamese American in Riverside City, and nearby counties is planning the a large protest at the city to express the objection and concerns to this program.

4.       I would be happy organize a meeting for the leaders of the Vietnamese communities in Southern California to meet with the Riverside Council to have an open discussion and address the issues.

5.       I also asked for information for the communities and residents of Riverside to request the Council to cancel or to reverse the Sister Agreement. Mr. Acharya will look into this and getting back to us.

Moving forward, it’s important that we do the following in addition to just simply protest:

1.       Prepare a letter/petition and gather as many signatures of residents of Riverside as we can and as soon as we can.

2.       Schedule a meeting with the Mayor of Riverside

3.       Get as many Riverside residents and elected officials to come to the next Council

Meeting ̣(1/27/2015) to express our objections.

4.       Large protest on 1/29 where the delegation meet with the City.

It is very important that we do 1) and 3).  As 4) is just for public PR, and the lobbying efforts behind the scenes is what will change the outcome in the next year as we want to undo/reverse the agreement.
