Bà Thoa bị xe đụng khi đi bộ qua đường Harbor, gần góc Katella, tại Anaheim vào lúc 2g10 sáng ngày 26 tháng 2, 2011. Chủ nhân chiếc xe đã tháo chạy. Bà Thoa hiện trong tình trạng ổn định nhưng có vẻ thiếu dinh dưỡng khi được đưa vào Bệnh Viện UCI. Theo giấy tờ hộ thân, bà Thoa 62 tuổi, cao 5feet1. Nặng khỏang 100 pounds. Bà Thoa tỏ dấu hiểu tiếng việt nhưng chưa thể ăn nói được. Trong giấy tờ hộ thân của bà có tấm thẻ lộ trình Xe Đò đi vùng San Jose-Oakland, nên có thể bà có thân nhân vùng đó. UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange is seeking the public’s help to identify friends or relatives of Ms. Thoa Kim Nguyen. She was the victim of a hit-and-run collision while crossing Harbor Boulevard near Katella Avenue in Anaheim at 2:10 a.m. on Feb. 26, 2011. Ms. Nguyen is in fair condition but arrived at UC Irvine Medical Center in a malnourished state. She is 62 years old, 5 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs approximately 110 lbs. Nguyen is unable to communicate but appears to understand spoken Vietnamese. Thoa Kim Nguyen may also have friends or relatives in or near San Jose. Her possessions included a used bus card for a coach that travels between that city and Orange County.
